About Rebekah McClusky

Why "Soli Deo Gloria"?

Rebekah McClusky is a young music teacher with a passion for teaching and bringing joy through the universal art form. Her experience, beginning at 11 years of age, extended into adulthood with her studies at Macomb Community College and Wayne State University. She currently holds an Associates Degree and Certificate of Music Performance, along with five years of teaching experience.

Soli Deo Gloria, a phrase that the classical composer, Bach penned in his original compositions, caught Rebekah's attention and sprouted within those years of teaching, beginning as a prayer that Jesus Christ would become the center of the passion she held dear. The phrase means "Glory to God alone" and served as a dedication of the music it was penned in. Now, Rebekah hosts lessons for students K-12 to not only offer an avenue for kids to begin their musical journey, but also to enter an environment where the Lord is exalted. Students experience prayer in each class, learn what it means to worship God through every song, and hear that the music within them is a gift from the Lord, that they are dedicated worshippers.

The main goal for the Soli Deo Gloria students is that giving glory to the one true God would become the heartbeat of all that is accomplished in each class. As music excellence is pursued, so is the worship of Jesus Christ and the encouragement poured into each child.
